Satellites give Western Hub more iron ore options

AUG 17 – The calculation of a maiden 12.7Mt JORC resource at the Rabbit and Rooster deposits has lifted the total mineral resource at Iron Ore Holdings’ Western Hub in the Pilbara region of Western Australia to 275.8Mt.
The importance of the smaller satellite deposits will be their product-blending flexibility rather than the tonnages they bring. MD Alwyn Vorster says the relatively low phosphorous content at the deposits may provide a greater level of product blending flexibility with ore from the Bungaroo South project.
Altogether, IOH now has a total 1,687Mt of JORC mineral resources – 581Mt hematite/goethite and 1,106Mt magnetite.
