ERA approves $A57M Ranger Deeps study

JUNE 15 – Energy Resources of Australia has approved the start of work on a $A57M prefeasibility study on the potential Ranger 3 Deeps uranium underground mine 260km east of Darwin in Australia’s Northern Territory.
The study, due in 2014, will include 16,000m of resource definition drilling in addition to 35,000m exploration decline drilling, extension of the decline and installation of a ventilation shaft.
Construction of the Ranger 3 Deeps exploration decline began May 1 to enable close-spaced drilling to further define the orebody and explore adjacent areas. A decision on mine viability is expected in late 2014.
