Brumby posts manganese resource
28th Mar 2012
PERTH, Mar 28 – Manganese and base metal explorer Brumby Resources has announced a maiden inferred mineral resource of 27Mt at 10.2% manganese at the Sixty Sixer prospect, part of its Oakover project, 80km east of Newman in Western Australia’s East Pilbara Manganese Province.
The mineralisation is open to the east and west and with second-phase drilling under way, the company sees potential for a significant increase in the mineral resource when results are received late in the June quarter.
Brumby says its past metallurgical beneficiation tests indicate that Sixty Sixer mineralisation with a head grade over 10% can be simply upgraded to a marketable product of 36% Mn.
