Volta board change
31st Jan 2012
PERTH, Jan 31 – Former Australian football star turned charity fundraiser David Wirrpanda is the new face on the board of West Africa-focused gold explorer Volta Mining.
The non-executive director position is the first in the commercial sector for Wirrpanda, an Australian Football League premiership player for the West Coast Eagles in 2006 who has been named as one of the most influential Aboriginal Australians.
Volta says the appointment strengthens the board as the company expands its tenement holdings in Burkina Faso and Mali.
